ICC penalises Kranti Gaud for gesture after taking wicket – 10% of match fee as fine
News: The ICC has imposed a penalty on pacer Kranti Gaud following India’s win over Sri Lanka in the 2026 Women’s Asia Cup final. She has been penalised 10 percent of her match fee after being found guilty of committing a Level 1 breach of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel and has also received one demerit point. After dismissing Sri Lankan opener Imesha Dulani, Kranti Gaud gestured towards the pavilion which the ICC considered to be conduct that could provoke the batter.
The incident was deemed as a breach of Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct.
